The festivals may be over for 2014, but there is still plenty of fresh, locally grown produce available at the farmers market.  Tomatoes, peaches, watermelons, cantaloupes, green beans, peas, peppers, sauces, jams, jellies, flowers, honey, sweet potatoes, squash, okra, potatoes, pickles, and more are available regularly at the market.  Come to the market early for the best selections.
Attention:
For your own safety, please use designated walkways at the farmers market.  Please do not walk between parked vendor vehicles.  Designated walkways are clearly marked.
Weapons are not allowed on the premises of the Morgan County-Decatur Farmers Market.
Cooking Demonstrations at the Market
Have you ever wondered how to prepare some of the produce available at the market?  Want to try something new or different?  You are in luck! Chef Jakob Reed of Albany Bistro has partnered with the farmers market again to prepare dishes from produce purchased at the farmers market.  Chef Jakob has prepared a dish at each of the festivals this summer.  His dishes are always a treat to taste.  You can also taste his wonderful cuisine at Albany Bistro in Decatur.
Would You Like to Volunteer at the Farmers Market?
The festivals are done for 2014, but please keep us in mind for volunteer service hours in 2015.  We generally have 4 festivals a year and volunteers can earn 4.5 volunteer hours at a farmers market festival.  We cannot do our festivals without our volunteers.  We use the Volunteer Center of Morgan County to help with our volunteer needs.  You can register as a volunteer on their website and it will also keep track of your volunteer service hours automatically.
