Cooking Demonstrations at the Market
Have you ever wondered how to prepare some of the produce available at the market?  Want to try something new or different?  You are in luck! Chef Jakob Reed of Albany Bistro has partnered with the farmers market again to prepare dishes from produce purchased at the farmers market.  Chef Jakob will prepare a dish at each of the festivals this summer.  Come out and see what he will prepare next.  You can also taste his wonderful cuisine at Albany Bistro in Decatur.
Ask a Master Gardener
Ask a Master Gardener is back again this year at the farmers market.  On Saturdays, May 10 - July 26, master gardeners will be available to answer your gardening questions.  Master gardeners can help in identifying plants, provide information on testing your soil, recommending plants, assisting with pest management issues, and leading you to other sources of good gardening information.  The master gardeners will be available from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
Would You Like to Volunteer at the Farmers Market?
We still have two festival dates left this summer.  There are volunteer opportunities available at Tomato Sandwich Day and the Watermelon Festival.  Volunteers earn service hours with us.  To volunteer, go to the Volunteer Center of Morgan County's web site and sign-up for the opportunities that interest you.  When you sign-up as a volunteer through their web site, your volunteer service hours are tracked automatically.  It is very simple to do.  To register as a volunteer, go to this web address and sign-up:
